The Steenberg Estate was registered in 1682 and was the first farm given title in South Africa. The first owner was a young German widow, Catharina Ustings who came to Cape Town at 22 years of age and became wife to four more husbands. It was this courageous lady who started the tradition of excellence which is Steenberg.
The hotel buildings have been beautifully restored and superbly furnished.
