Art at Constantia

Art at Constantia is a permanent exhibition being curated by Lyn Atterbury and James Hodgson at the beautiful Groot Constantia Wine Estate.

Together they bring years of experience in the Art Industry from working in various Galleries around the country to attending courses and lectures in curating and collecting art with a sharp eye for quality and collection or investment purposes.

Their aim is to provide a platform for established local and emerging Artists, to showcase the best that they have to offer in their expressions of paint on canvas. Artists not only enrich a community with the beauty of their work, they also help to educate, inspire and stimulate the hearts and minds of many.

“The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious – the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art.”- Albert Einstein.

Art at Constantia now exhibits in the Tasting and Sales Hall on the Groot Constantia Wine Estate and at the Modern Day Cellar and Tasting Room, where daily cellar tours are conducted. This most historic Estate was established in 1685 by the Cape Governor, Simon Van Der Stel. During the year Exhibitions at Groot Constantia take place regularly in The Cellar with grand and exciting openings. These events are not to be missed – for more details of the upcoming events, go to their exhibition page.
