The Constantia Valley Association (CVA) is the destination marketing body formed to promote the Valley as the preferred destination for visitors and locals. The new brochure and website will be unveiled at the CVA’s official launch to be hosted at Simon’s, Groot Constantia on the 30th August 2007 for members and affiliated organisations.
Chairperson Ian Kilbride states that the enthusiasm and interest for the CVA has exceeded expectations. The CVA has nine foundation members (Buitenwerwachting, Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia, Pam Golding Properties, Constantia Uitsig, High Constantia, Constantia Glen, Steenberg and Warwick Private Wealth Management) and since May membership has increased to include 60 businesses from all sectors including hospitality and retail. A wealth of information and creative thoughts for promoting Constantia Valley and its businesses has been uncovered, with many members already coming forward with ideas to give the area an edge in the highly competitive tourism market.
But the CVA is not about attracting only tourists; they want to encourage Capetonians to discover Cape Town’s Vineyard, the old wine-growing area in Southern Africa. And in so doing, CVA members will benefit from increased trade.
Membership of the CVA is open to all businesses operating in the Constantia Valley and applications are still being received for the 2007/2008 period. The deadline for inclusion in the brochure is the 31st May 2008.
Existing members can expect to receive their official invitations to the launch in the near future.
A combination of simplicity and sophistication, natural beauty and rich history, Constantia Valley, Cape Town’s Vineyard, is where life is savoured slowly.
