Cloete's Restaurant

Cloete's Restaurant in the Manor House is an à la carte restaurant. Enjoy a sherry in front of the fire; lunch with the sun’s rays shining through tall teak windows, or fine dinner by romantic candlelight.

Savour meals to remember accompanied by the best Cape wines surrounded by antique furniture and pictures from the family collection while looking through the massive door to the terrace and south gardens. It was here that Josias Cloete fought a duel with the British army doctor, James Barry who was born in Cork, Ireland and discovered on her death to be a woman who had masqueraded as a man all her life.

Cloete’s Restaurant comprises three rooms that can also be used for private functions:

  • The gracious Agterkamer, seating 45 people
  • The Heerenkamer, seating 35 people
  • The intimate Cullinan Room, seating 10 people
