August Releases from Klein Constantia

2006 Cabernet Sauvingnon
A dry, late vintage by comparison to previous years resulted in finely textured, physiologically mature tannins and wonderfully ripe fruit flavours.

Clear, pure aromatic notes of cassis and ripe Cabernet fruit herald a linear and distinctively cool-climate Cabernet palate. The wine is very focused and clean with a long, balanced finish.

2006 Marlbrook
2006 was a year for bold red wines. The warm, dry summer lead to fully ripe, luscious red grapes of great colour and tannin concentration.

The wine is opaque at core, with a youthfully dense ruby rim. Mint and mocha complement the ripe blackcurrant fruit aromas, which follow through on the
palate in compact form. Resolute, fine tannins structure and rein in the
concentrated layers of pure, dark berry fruit flavours throughout, ensuring
a long, savoury, firm finish.

Advice from Colliers International

The main reason a property does not sell is price. Price is the catalyst or inhibitor behind any sale. If you track house sale indicators you will see that strong prices are still being achieved in the Constantia Valley. However, it is a no nonsense market which can be seen from the number of properties that have been on the market for months without a “real” offer. If you market at honest and realistic figures you will be rewarded by a sale for higher price in a shorter period of time. Historically June/July are slow months due to school holidays and inclement weather. However the good news is that the market generally picks up with August and September usually showing a record number of sales.

Colliers International would welcome the opportunity of meeting you and giving you more information on their unique marketing strategy, proven by successful sales in this tough market. Please contact Shelagh Billett on +27 83 292 3794.

Constantia Wine Route in the Community…

In the mid 90’s many teachers were retrenched from schools all over the country including the Constantia Primary School. At that stage a large proportion of the students were children whose parents worked at the Constantia Valley Farms. In an effort to ensure the children of the farm workers continued to receive an education the Constantia Wine Route agreed to finance a teacher and that commitment is still in place today.

The Constantia Primary school provided an education for Afrikaans speaking learners whose parents live and work on the surrounding farms or Xhosa speaking learners from homes in Westlake. For more information on how you might be able to assist the school please visit the website www.khanya.co.za
