The Constantia Valley is truly Cape Town’s Vineyard

The oldest wine-making region in the southern hemisphere, dating back to 1685, Constantia Valley is today the Cape’s most intimate wine route consisting of nine wine farms, each with their own distinctive heritage and premium wines.

Enjoyed by Napoleon Bonaparte and royalty in the 18th century, Constantia Valley’s unique combination of terroir and climate produces some of the world’s finest wines that continue to this day to win accolades and international awards for consistently high standard and quality.

Beau Constantia

Beau Constantia is a boutique wine farm situated at the top of Constantia Nek overlooking False Bay. Our vines are planted to an elevation of 350 metres above sea-level on some of the steepest agricultural slopes in the Cape.

These lovingly nurtured vines are spoilt with panoramic views of the Stellenbosch and Helderberg Mountain ranges and over False Bay as far as Hangklip, which can be fully appreciated from our modern, glass enclosed tasting room and tasting decks. Beau Constantia is a site not to be missed when visiting the Constantia Valley.

The tasting room is an ideal venue for company conferences and seminars and can accommodate 30 delegates comfortably.

The wines produced on Beau Constantia are:

Beau Constantia Cecily – Viognier 2011
Pas De Nom White 2011 – 82% Sauvignon Blanc; 9% Semmilon; 9% Viognier
Pas De Nom Red 2010 – 60% Cabernet Franc; 30% Merlot; 10% Petit Verdot

The following wines will be released towards the end of the 2012:
2012 Beau Constantia Cecily
2012 Pas de Nom White
In 2013 we will have two more reds:
Beau Constantia Lucca and Beau Constantia Aiden

Recent awards won by Beau Constantia:
Top Viognier Award from the SA Terroir Wine Awards 2011

Beau Constantia has an ongoing program of removal of alien vegetation and replacing it with indigeneous vegetation such as silver leaf trees and proteas.
